What is your cannabis origin story?
Cannabis has been around me my whole life. It wasn't until I started working at CAC that I realized how important cannabis actually is. I have friends and family members that suffer from pain, depression, and anxiety and I wanted to learn how the effects of marijuana can actually help people live their everyday life. So I guess my story starts on my first day here.
What did you do before this and how did it prepare you for your role today?
Before CAC I worked at The Madd Hatter Vaping Company. I learned about vaping and how customers really depended on our products for an alternative source for smoking. I learned the inside and outs of vape mods taking them apart and putting them back together to learn how they actually functioned. It opened my eyes and wanted me to understand something more than just vape juice. Hence, my giant step towards medical marijuana.
What is your strain of choice?
Our most famous strain... NF1. The smell is so exotic and intoxicating. And it's absolutely gorgeous to look at. You almost don't even want to smoke it.
What is your favorite CAC edible?
I'm a girl with a sweet tooth. So I'd have to say our Milk Chocolate Drops are absolutely delicious. A must have.
What is your favorite delivery method?
Vapes. Especially our Activ8's. Fruity, subtle high that mellows me right out.
What is the most interesting thing you’ve learned about cannabis recently?
I find it interesting how every cannabinoid has a different effect on its consumers. This has helped me recommend to loved one's specific product that with help with their own individual ailments.
What do you do for fun? Do you have any hobbies or collections?
I LOVE to dance, you can always catch me busting out a dance move absolutely anywhere. As for hobbies and collections, drawing is a hobby of mine, I also have a massive collection of movies that I’ve probably seen a thousand times.
Where do you go to learn more about cannabis?
Honestly, I learn about cannabis through my co-workers. I learn something new every day. Everyone has their own knowledge and understanding of their experiences with cannabis. I also look towards websites to find the genealogy of certain strains and how they affect people.
What is the coolest new cannabis-related gadget you’ve seen recently?
The PuffCo Peak.
What’s your favorite CAC product right now?
Wonder Balm. I should be a walking advertisement for it. Backache, Knee pain, Shoulder pain, heartbreak? Wonder Balm!
What do you like most about working at CAC?
We are a family. Everyone I work with knows they come to work every day because what they do is important. We help people. We come in with positive vibes, we are hard-working and we work as a team to make sure everything runs smoothly. Our patients are our priority.
Are you a team player? Describe your usual role in a team-centered work environment? Do you easily assume a leadership role?
I am definitely a team player. I see myself as a flex player. No matter the department I am in, I run around everywhere to make sure every department has everything they need to succeed. I try to make everyone's job just a little easier, and try to make more communication where it may be lacking.
When are you happiest at work?
Honestly? When I just finished rushing around, stressing out about priorities and helping out with wholesale orders and I get that chance to sit down and feel accomplished.
How do you and co-workers settle music disputes?
Rotate. If you want to play music. Play it. We bond over our music. And it gets us by.
Are there any innovations in packaging that excite you?
Our packaging designs. So much hard work goes into creating our labels. I have yet to see another company that puts so much love into their packaging as much as we do.
In your role, what is the biggest challenge you face in getting our medical products to patients?
Slate! Making point of sale labels for slate used to take me hours to calculate mg and percentages per serving and per package. I then created conversion charts for all of our products to make it easier for us to power through our labels and spend more time making sure our products are perfectly packaged for our patients.
What is the most recent CAC product you helped produce/manufacture/package?:
Tinctures.
Is there anything else you want to tell us/our patients?
We have a great team here at CAC, just know all our hard work and dedication is to ensure we provide the best of the best for our patients.
Meet Tyler, CAC’s Associate General Manager
Name: Tyler
Hometown: Birmingham, AL

Interesting fact: I hiked the Appalachian Trail in 2016 and the Camino de Santiago in 2014.
Role at CAC: Associate General Manager
What is your cannabis origin story?
I tried cannabis for the first time when I was in college and it really helped me when I needed to grind and study for my classes. After college I used flower to calm my mind after work and I used it before & after physical activities for quicker recoveries.
What did you do before this and how did it prepare you for your role today?
I was an E-Commerce Associate for an outdoor gear company for a couple of years and worked at a high-end restaurant for 5 years. Here at CAC we pride ourselves on our customer service and I believe that my previous roles have exposed me to a wide range of consumers and unique situations that has better prepared me to assist patients today.
What is your strain of choice?
Brownie Scout or Dream Lotus.
What is your favorite edible?
Our Cake Pops are very delicious!
Favorite delivery method?
I prefer smoking, but I love our Slate line.
What is the most interesting thing you’ve learned about cannabis recently?
I haven’t seen delta-8 THC products anywhere other than here at CAC and I’m very glad that we started producing those products. Everyone reacts differently to cannabis, but any product with delta-8 THC in it has done wonders for me personally. If you’ve ever wondered about the benefits of delta-8 THC you should definitely come by and visit us!
How do you ensure first time visitors are comfortable with their first dispensary experience?
Coming from Birmingham, Al, I remember how much of a culture shock it was for me to even be in a dispensary. Whenever new patients enter the dispensary I keep in mind that this can be a culture shock for others and it can easily be overwhelming, so I make sure to go over cannabis information at the patient’s pace to ensure their first experience is a pleasant one.
What do you do for fun?
I love hiking and traveling.
Where do you go to learn more about cannabis?
Leafly, Merry Jane, BostonTreesReddit, and various cannabis magazines.
What is the coolest new cannabis-related gadget you’ve seen recently?
The PuffCo Peak is pretty nifty!
What’s your favorite CAC product right now?
My favorite product is the 1:1 Delta-8 THC:CBD Tincture.
Massachusetts Medical Marijuana Online System Changing as of January 27th
What is the migration about?
On Monday, January 27th, 2020, The Cannabis Control Commission’s Medical Use of Marijuana Program Online System will migrate from the Commonwealth’s Virtual Gateway (VG) to the Massachusetts Cannabis Industry Portal (CIP). As a result, constituents should anticipate fewer interruptions in service, access to a streamlined, user-friendly experience and ongoing enhancements to the system!
How does this impact CAC and it’s patients?
The entire statewide system is down for the migration from Friday 1/24 at 6pm through Monday 1/27. As a result, we are unable to confirm patient data within the statewide system unless we have already served you AND you have an up-to-date, permanent MA Medical Card with photo.
What does this mean for patients shopping at CAC Taunton this weekend (1/24-1/27)?
Temporary Medical Cards: CAC will not be able to accept temporary printed medical cards without a photo since we will have no way to verify patients. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
New CAC Patients: We also will not be able to process patients new to CAC, due to the inability to confirm patient information with the state.
Existing CAC Patients: Existing patients should be prepared for longer wait times as we manually confirm your information, so please plan your trip accordingly.
Hours of Operation: We will be open normal hours for all existing patients - 10am - 7:30pm
How do I claim my new online account with MassCIP?
Patients and caregivers will need to claim their Virtual Gateway account in MassCIP in order to access the Medical Use of Marijuana Online System going forward. To claim your account, please visit the CCC’s website, using the tutorials they have provided. You will not be able to manage your previous account, until you claim and setup your new account on the Mass CIP portal.

Purple Punch Returns to CAC Taunton!
Purple Punch is one of our patients favorite strains, and to celebrate it’s return to our menu, here are some facts about the beloved hybrid!
Purple Punch is an Indica -dominant hybrid, with an impressive ratio of 80:20 ratio of indica to sativa! The perfect mix of Granddaddy Purple and Larry OG.
Our cultivation team uses an extended slow cure process to ensure unmatched terpene profile and a super smooth smoke.
Just like the aroma of this flower, the flavor is a deep berry taste, sweet, with strong notes of grape. That is why Purple Punch, is sometimes referred to smelling like Kool Aid.
Even though the name boasts it’s purple hues, there is a mix of vibrant green nugs, and frosty trichomes. Each bud is a range of shades from purple to green, and yellow.
Purple Punch is commonly known to have benefits that include alleviating stress, anxiety, and insomnia.
The average THC% of Purple Punch ranges between 18-20%.
This is the stage, of the plant finishing and all of the leafs showing their "Fall Colors" . When a cannabis plant shows these colors it is a good indication that the plant has been drained of its nutrients/sugars and is ripe and ready for harvest!
