Official Job Title: Delivery Driver

IMG_2093.png

What is your cannabis origin story?

I began smoking in 2013 to help with anxiety and depression. After realizing how much it’s helped me, I found myself learning as much as I could about cannabis, and eventually that led me to working in the industry with CAC today!

What did you do before this and how did it prepare you for your role today?

Before joining CAC I was working as pizza delivery driver while running my own photo/video side business. Because of that I learned how to efficiently organize deliveries and communicate with clients/patients effectively. On top of that I’m more accustomed to planning projects with a team in mind, organizing timing to get products where they need to go.

What is your strain of choice?

Blue Dream or Jack Herer

What is your favorite edible?

I really like anything chocolate, but our chocolate-covered coffee beans are so tasty I almost always go for them!

Favorite delivery method?

I prefer to smoke flower, though recently I’ve been trying more dabs and finding out what I like.

What is the most interesting thing you’ve learned about cannabis recently?

That THCA crystallizes readily when isolated, but Delta-9-THC will not. That, and the fact that there’s a Delta-10-THC cannabinoid that we know barely anything about!

How do you ensure first time visitors are comfortable with their first dispensary experience?

By helping them learn about the products they’re interested in, and guiding them to products that might help them with whatever symptoms they might be experiencing.

What do you do for fun?

Hike, go to local shows, take photos with my friends, garden, and travel :)

Do you have any hobbies or collections?

I recently started growing Japanese Maple trees, I’m hoping to make a few into bonsais!

Where do you go to learn more about cannabis?

Everywhere, you never know when or where you might learn something new!

What is the coolest new cannabis-related gadget you’ve seen recently?

Rosin presses!

What’s your favorite CAC product right now?

I’ve been a big fan of our Northern Purple Live Resin, it’s super tasty and the effects are really nice and balanced!

Meet Janet, One of CAC's PSA's!

Name: Janet
Hometown:
Chicopee, Massachusetts
Years in Cannabis:
One year, and two months.
Nickname:
The Baby Frightener
Fun Fact:
I also work at a Grateful Dead themed loaded French fry food truck during the summer!

What is your cannabis origin story?
I smoked some radioactive cannabis and I became the superhero PSA I am today :P

What did you do before this and how did it prepare you for your role today?
I was working at a family homeless shelter before I started at CAC. One of the many things I learned while working at the shelter was that sometimes you will encounter people who you are trying to help that will be mean or yell or be downright unbearable. All of those people have something going on in their lives that you don’t know about or you do know about but those outside forces are causing them to act this way. Not everyone knows how to deal with stress or pain and they can take those feelings out on you. Don’t take it personally. You have to work past that to provide the best experience and, in this case, the medicine they need so they can do everyday things that most of us take for granted. It has helped me through tough days to just know I was able to brush off that encounter and help others

What is your strain of choice?
Kiwiskunk. One of my favorite patients and I bond over our love of this strain

What is your favorite edible?
Cake pops! Chef and the kitchen crew, are constantly killin’ it!

Favorite delivery method? e.g.  smoke, dab, vape, eat, topical
Dabs.

What is the most interesting thing you’ve learned about cannabis recently?
How CBD interacts with your body and other medications and the BHO and PHO extraction processes and how heat and pressure can have an impact on the final product.

How do you ensure first time visitors are comfortable with their first dispensary experience?
Listening. People come in wanting to talk about their pain or just talk about their lives. Take in that info and actively listen. Take the time to explain items. Show them how to use AND OPEN what they bought. So many people talk about their bad experiences at other dispensaries so I keep those things in mind and try to do better and be better. It's those little things people appreciate.

What do you do for fun?
Hiking, with a smoke session, and cooking/baking!

Do you have any hobbies or collections?

I have a collection of all things Bill Murray. Movie posters, T-shirts, my girl Meg just got me an ornament for Christmas and IT TALKS!! My hope one day is when we go recreational, that he comes into our dispensary. I WILL CRY.

Where do you go to learn more about cannabis?
We have classes that our Sales Floor Leads put on and they are very informative. I have been using the MerryJane.com and MJbizdaily for more industry news and Hightimes to read about fun experiences and new products. Those searches end up putting me in a cannabis rabbit hole so I see a lot of stuff.

What’s your favorite CAC product right now?
NF1, anything!

What do you like most about working at CAC?
My co-workers (dispensary and back of house) are so amazing. They are some of the best people I have ever met. I would also have to say helping out others. We have some pretty incredible patients.

Nickname: Chella, Chelociraptor

Official Job Title: Inventory Control Specialist

What is your cannabis origin story?
Cannabis has been around me my whole life. It wasn't until I started working at CAC that I realized how important cannabis actually is. I have friends and family members that suffer from pain, depression, and anxiety and I wanted to learn how the effects of marijuana can actually help people live their everyday life. So I guess my story starts on my first day here.

What did you do before this and how did it prepare you for your role today?
Before CAC I worked at The Madd Hatter Vaping Company. I learned about vaping and how customers really depended on our products for an alternative source for smoking. I learned the inside and outs of vape mods taking them apart and putting them back together to learn how they actually functioned. It opened my eyes and wanted me to understand something more than just vape juice. Hence, my giant step towards medical marijuana.

What is your strain of choice?
Our most famous strain... NF1. The smell is so exotic and intoxicating. And it's absolutely gorgeous to look at. You almost don't even want to smoke it.

What is your favorite CAC edible?
I'm a girl with a sweet tooth. So I'd have to say our Milk Chocolate Drops are absolutely delicious. A must have.

What is your favorite delivery method?
Vapes. Especially our Activ8's. Fruity, subtle high that mellows me right out.

What is the most interesting thing you’ve learned about cannabis recently?
I find it interesting how every cannabinoid has a different effect on its consumers. This has helped me recommend to loved one's specific product that with help with their own individual ailments.

What do you do for fun? Do you have any hobbies or collections?
I LOVE to dance, you can always catch me busting out a dance move absolutely anywhere. As for hobbies and collections, drawing is a hobby of mine, I also have a massive collection of movies that I’ve probably seen a thousand times.

Where do you go to learn more about cannabis?
Honestly, I learn about cannabis through my co-workers. I learn something new every day. Everyone has their own knowledge and understanding of their experiences with cannabis. I also look towards websites to find the genealogy of certain strains and how they affect people.

What is the coolest new cannabis-related gadget you’ve seen recently?
The PuffCo Peak.

What’s your favorite CAC product right now?
Wonder Balm. I should be a walking advertisement for it. Backache, Knee pain, Shoulder pain, heartbreak? Wonder Balm!

What do you like most about working at CAC?
We are a family. Everyone I work with knows they come to work every day because what they do is important. We help people. We come in with positive vibes, we are hard-working and we work as a team to make sure everything runs smoothly. Our patients are our priority.

Are you a team player? Describe your usual role in a team-centered work environment?  Do you easily assume a leadership role?
I am definitely a team player. I see myself as a flex player. No matter the department I am in, I run around everywhere to make sure every department has everything they need to succeed. I try to make everyone's job just a little easier, and try to make more communication where it may be lacking.

When are you happiest at work?
Honestly? When I just finished rushing around, stressing out about priorities and helping out with wholesale orders and I get that chance to sit down and feel accomplished.

How do you and co-workers settle music disputes?
Rotate. If you want to play music. Play it. We bond over our music. And it gets us by.

Are there any innovations in packaging that excite you?
Our packaging designs. So much hard work goes into creating our labels. I have yet to see another company that puts so much love into their packaging as much as we do.

In your role, what is the biggest challenge you face in getting our medical products to patients?
Slate! Making point of sale labels for slate used to take me hours to calculate mg and percentages per serving and per package. I then created conversion charts for all of our products to make it easier for us to power through our labels and spend more time making sure our products are perfectly packaged for our patients.

What is the most recent CAC product you helped produce/manufacture/package?:
Tinctures.

Is there anything else you want to tell us/our patients?
We have a great team here at CAC, just know all our hard work and dedication is to ensure we provide the best of the best for our patients.

Meet Tyler, CAC’s Associate General Manager

Name: Tyler

Hometown: Birmingham, AL

Years in Cannabis: 1.5 yrs

Interesting fact: I hiked the Appalachian Trail in 2016 and the Camino de Santiago in 2014.

Role at CAC: Associate General Manager

Danzel.png

What is your cannabis origin story?

I tried cannabis for the first time when I was in college and it really helped me when I needed to grind and study for my classes. After college I used flower to calm my mind after work and I used it before & after physical activities for quicker recoveries.

What did you do before this and how did it prepare you for your role today?

I was an E-Commerce Associate for an outdoor gear company for a couple of years and worked at a high-end restaurant for 5 years. Here at CAC we pride ourselves on our customer service and I believe that my previous roles have exposed me to a wide range of consumers and unique situations that has better prepared me to assist patients today.

What is your strain of choice?

Brownie Scout or Dream Lotus.

What is your favorite edible?

Our Cake Pops are very delicious!

Favorite delivery method?

I prefer smoking, but I love our Slate line.

What is the most interesting thing you’ve learned about cannabis recently?

I haven’t seen delta-8 THC products anywhere other than here at CAC and I’m very glad that we started producing those products. Everyone reacts differently to cannabis, but any product with delta-8 THC in it has done wonders for me personally. If you’ve ever wondered about the benefits of delta-8 THC you should definitely come by and visit us!

How do you ensure first time visitors are comfortable with their first dispensary experience?

Coming from Birmingham, Al, I remember how much of a culture shock it was for me to even be in a dispensary. Whenever new patients enter the dispensary I keep in mind that this can be a culture shock for others and it can easily be overwhelming, so I make sure to go over cannabis information at the patient’s pace to ensure their first experience is a pleasant one.

What do you do for fun?

I love hiking and traveling.

Where do you go to learn more about cannabis?

Leafly, Merry Jane, BostonTreesReddit, and various cannabis magazines.

What is the coolest new cannabis-related gadget you’ve seen recently?

The PuffCo Peak is pretty nifty!

What’s your favorite CAC product right now?

My favorite product is the 1:1 Delta-8 THC:CBD Tincture.
