Purple Punch Returns to CAC Taunton!
Purple Punch is one of our patients favorite strains, and to celebrate it’s return to our menu, here are some facts about the beloved hybrid!
Purple Punch is an Indica -dominant hybrid, with an impressive ratio of 80:20 ratio of indica to sativa! The perfect mix of Granddaddy Purple and Larry OG.
Our cultivation team uses an extended slow cure process to ensure unmatched terpene profile and a super smooth smoke.
Just like the aroma of this flower, the flavor is a deep berry taste, sweet, with strong notes of grape. That is why Purple Punch, is sometimes referred to smelling like Kool Aid.
Even though the name boasts it’s purple hues, there is a mix of vibrant green nugs, and frosty trichomes. Each bud is a range of shades from purple to green, and yellow.
Purple Punch is commonly known to have benefits that include alleviating stress, anxiety, and insomnia.
The average THC% of Purple Punch ranges between 18-20%.
This is the stage, of the plant finishing and all of the leafs showing their "Fall Colors" . When a cannabis plant shows these colors it is a good indication that the plant has been drained of its nutrients/sugars and is ripe and ready for harvest!
Taunton Gazette: Mozzone Boulevard facility first in Taunton to get retail marijuana license
“The sale of recreational, retail marijuana in the city is one step closer to becoming something real.
“I think it was historic,” said Glenn McElfresh, referring to the 9-to-1 vote taken by the City Council on Tuesday night to approve a license to operate a retail-pot business on Mozzone Boulevard.
McElfresh, who describes himself as compliance officer for Commonwealth Alternative Care, was one of a handful of representatives of the company who sat down with the council’s police and license committee.
The full council later in the evening voted to approve the first-of-its-kind license request…
Meet CAC Taunton's Assistant Packaging Manager, Melissa
Name: Melissa Campbell
Title: Assistant Packaging Manager
Hometown: New Britain CT
Years in Cannabis: 1 year
Interesting fact: I served as a Chemical Operations Specialist in the Army for 6 years.
What is your cannabis origin story?: Being a veteran I have seen what Cannabis has done to help other veterans with medical conditions such as PTSD.. When MA legalized it, I knew it was my calling. I wanted to be part of an industry where I could help others treat their medical conditions and show them that Cannabis is a better alternative to most prescription drugs.
What did you do before this and how did it prepare you for your role today?: I believe that my time in the military is what prepared me the most for my role today. I get to be a leader and manage an awesome packaging team here at CAC!
What is your strain of choice?: Sour Diesel
What is your favorite edible?: That's a tough one. I don't usually do edibles as I prefer flower, but I would say gummies.
Favorite delivery method?: Vaping flower or vape carts
What is the most interesting thing you’ve learned about cannabis recently?: I read an article recently that there are two FDA-approved medications that will contain cannabinoids in them. I’m not sure what they will be and how true it is but it was exciting to see the chemicals in the cannabis plant being recognized for the symptoms they can help treat.
What do you do for fun?: I like to paint and do artsy type stuff. It’s kind of a hidden talent I didn’t know until I was in college. I also like to play sports such as softball and basketball.
Where do you go to learn more about cannabis?: Usually online. I follow a lot of different social media accounts where I learn about new strains and what’s going on in the industry.
What is the coolest new cannabis-related gadget you’ve seen recently?: I would have to say the Cannagar mold I recently saw on social media. It may not be new to everyone but I thought it was a pretty cool device to make Cannabis Cigars. It’s nothing I have ever done before but would love to try it someday.
What’s your favorite CAC product right now?: I like the carts a lot and our Activ8 Mango is one of my favorites. Helps quiet my mind so I can sleep well.
What do you like most about working at CAC? :The team I work with, the atmosphere and the fact that we are helping others by doing what we do.
What is the most rewarding part of working for CAC?: Being able to learn and grow. We are still a young company with so many great things ahead of us. I look forward to our continuous growth and making a difference in the cannabis industry.

Hometown: Bronx, NY
Years in Cannabis: 1 year
Favorite Strain of Choice: Peyote Cookies- The coffee aroma is heavenly.
Favorite Edible: Chocolate covered blueberries!
What’s the most interesting thing you’ve learned about cannabis recently?: I've learned that various cannabinoids in flower eventually convert into CBN if exposed to oxygen or if they are stored incorrectly. I’m thankful for CBN as CBN helps me sleep!
What do you do to try and make the dispensary experience better?.: It can be intimidating for a first time patient to shop at a dispensary, so I listen to their needs and make sure they feel like they can take their time. I also try to build connections with my patients. At the end of the day we all share a love for cannabis, so building connections can really help you learn more about what the patient needs.
Where do you go for cannabis information?: Besides Leafly, I rely on my team. My co-workers are my best resources. We work with the brightest minds, and our team is constantly expanding.
What do you love most about working at Commonwealth Alternative Care? : I get butterflies daily because I’m working my dream job. I get to work with cannabis and meet people from different backgrounds who each have a reason to use cannabis. I engage daily with wonderful minds who share a love for the industry. I love my team, we are a family with each other’s best interest at heart. There's no better feeling then having a patient leave our dispensary, all smiles because of the hard work we put into this everyday!
Taunton Daily Gazette: Marijuana retail shops in Taunton would span the city
TAUNTON – When it comes to host community agreements for retail-marijuana shops, the current picture in Taunton is literally all over the map.
Nine entities so far have been granted the first-step agreements by the City Council to open retail pot shops — with locations ranging from East Taunton’s Liberty and Union Industrial Park to the westerly 400 block of Winthrop Street and points in between.
Only one of them, Commonwealth Alternative Care, has so far been granted a special permit to grow and sell recreational marijuana.
Commonwealth Alternative Care already has a foothold in the city.
That group for nearly a year has been growing and selling medical marijuana and cannabis products on industrial-zoned Mozzone Boulevard off of Route 140/County Street.
And since opening, Commonwealth Alternative Care has expanded its medical pot cultivation, or growing, capacity.
It also this year got City Council approval to grow recreational marijuana inside a separate, adjacent building….
